Mandel here there's no question that disease is directly tied into a poor digestive tract our gut works directly with the immune system within our bodies sickness and disease is directly related to poor diet I want to review specific foods that makes your constipation worse if you're a meat lover understand that red meat is higher in fat than any other meats even though chicken and turkey does not contain fiber they're lower in fat that means it digests faster remember it's always better to choose foods with high fiber and low fat content alcohol and coffee causes dehydration if you're losing too much fluid from your body it's going to affect your digestion so be aware and make sure you're drinking extra fluids high-fat dairy products including whole milk cream and cheese also contain no fiber this can make constipation worse so make sure you're implementing whole grains fruits and vegetables in your diet you must stop eating those greasy like fried chicken or french fries they take a long time to digest if you love eating bananas make sure you eat them when they're ripe if you're eating them before they mature they contain a resistant starch that can aggravate pre-existing constipation be aware of your frozen foods many frozen foods are low in fiber and often high in fat they are usually high in sodium which ties up water to dilute the salt keeping it from pushing waste through the body if you love cookies pastries cakes or even crackers those are refined carbohydrates they're low in fiber low in fluid and high in fat white rice will lead the constipation because the husk bran and germ has been removed brown rice can help relieve constipation because the husk bran and germ have not been removed chocolate is definitely a no-no particularly people who have irritable bowel syndrome it is thought that the large amount of fat in chocolate will slow the digestion process be aware if you're taking iron and calcium supplements this can lead to constipation remember to add foods with additional fiber to your diet if you're always on the run and you're a fast food lover be aware most of those foods are processed like those burgers and fries they're all low fiber and high in fat if you're taking painkillers specifically narcotics that can cause your constipation those drugs can inhibit peristalsis or a movement within the intestines even chronic users of pain relievers like aspirin and ibuprofen has been linked to constipation if you're taking antidepressants and you are experiencing constipation please speak to your doctor they may need to change your medication if you experience GERD or heartburn be aware of antacids particularly those containing calcium or aluminum if you're taking calcium channel blockers or any kind of diuretic for possibly high blood pressure that will increase your urine output which flushes water from your system which can be the primary cause of your constipation so speak to your doctor if you're having these problems if you're taking too many laxatives that can shut your intestine down making your constipation worse I hope that this information can be very helpful for you please share this with your friends and family leave your comments below and most important make it a great day I'm dr.     Hey Doc, thanks for this video. A quick question, what is your view on taking curcuma food supplements?
    I take one those every breakfast and dinner. Constipation has always been a thing in my life, and I also get heartburn from time to time, so I'm wondering wether curcuma makes it worse or not. Thanks in advance!
