The State & Identity of American Politics | The Real Ratigan

If you’re concerned about the state of American politics, think about this; less than 25 percent of Americans identify as Republican Less than 30 percent of Americans identify as Democrats. You put both of them together, less than 50 percent of us collectively identify as Republicans or Democrats. So functionally, we have two minority, radical parties that have taken over American politics. So if you feel you don’t fit in to either party, don’t feel that you’re the “odd duck.” You actually are the majority looking at two radical, minority parties that have taken over. That may make you feel better, it may make you feel worse, but it may– I hope– change the way you look at American politics because we are not a majority-led Democracy, we are a country controlled by two radical minorities.

  1. so vote Bernie! he may caucus with democrats, but he's clearly not the DNC choice.
Because they know he's taking policy from corporate leaders and putting in back to the demos.
