Unify the Democratic Party

Unify the Democratic Party

Hello, my friends. I wanted to take a few minutes and do a short vlog. I know many of my friends are ecstatic about the wide range of Democratic candidates for the 2020 election. It’s wonderful. We have male, female, PoC, white, Muslim, Christian candidates. It’s wonderful. About time we have these options! It’s a great thing. And, of course, many of us have our preferred candidates, including myself. However, some people support their candidate by bashing other candidates. It makes me concerned — and it could become a problem. For example, if I support a candidate by bashing another candidate, and they end up winning the Democratic nomination. What will you do? You already publicly bashed that candidate. Now, will you vote for them? Maybe you will, but you publicly bashed them, and as a result, your Facebook friends may be opposed to them too. And if they are the DNC nomination, your friends may refuse to vote for them, at all, or even vote for the opposing party. This can really hurt us in the long run. So, of course, I understand that we all have our preferences, but please, please, please, focus on supporting your preferred candidate. Explain why they are good. Why their policies are great, rather than bashing other candidates. It will hurt them, and us, if they end up winning the primary. I hope we all can focus on the positives of our candidate. It’s so important for us to remain united. During the last election, we weren’t, and we all know how that ended up. I definitely don’t want that to happen again. so it’s so important that we remain united. Of course, we all have our preferences, which is totally fine, but we should invest our energy toward our preferred candidates rather than bashing other candidates. If you feel that there’s an important issue about a candidate, then of course, share that, but if the major way you support your candidate is by bashing other candidates, it won’t help us. I hope you think about this, and how it can affect our party in the long run. Thank you.
